Mission Statement

The City of Harris Fire Department's mission is to protect and enhance the quality of life for all citizens and visitors from the adverse effects of natural and man-made emergencies.   Our goal is to provide a protection program through a cost-efficient approach to emergency response, fire code application and public fire education.

Our department is made up of dedicated paid-on-call (volunteer) firefighters who live, work, and serve in our community. We are committed to professionalism, teamwork, training, and protecting the lives and property of our residents, businesses, and visitors. The core values of Honor, Integrity, Duty, and Respect have guided our department since its' founding in 1950.

We are proud to serve the City of Harris and surrounding communities with the highest of standards for emergency response, fire protection, rescue, medical response, and community safety eductation.

The HFD meets weekly on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm for fire & EMS training. This is the best oppurtunity to either check out what we do, or gain further information about potential recruitment. All are welcome to attend.
